Sokoto Housewife Pours Hot Oil On Husband’s Organ Over Alleged Infidelity

A domestic dispute in Sokoto has left a man hospitalised after his wife allegedly poured hot oil on his private parts over suspicions of infidelity.

The victim, Bello Abubakar, who lives in the Yar Gabas area of Sokoto, said the incident occurred shortly after he returned home from morning prayers.

Recounting the ordeal, Abubakar denied allegations that he was involved with another woman, insisting that the accusation had no basis. He suggested that his wife had been dealing with underlying issues in recent times.

According to him, events took a sudden turn after he got back from the mosque and found his wife in distress.

“I left for the mosque to observe Subhi prayer and later returned home in the morning. When I arrived, I met her crying, but she refused to explain what was wrong,” he said.

Abubakar explained that he later prepared to leave the house for work when his wife asked him to wait. He said he did not suspect any danger when she approached him with a cup containing what he thought was a harmless substance.

“Suddenly, I felt intense heat on my private part and started screaming. By the time I realised what had happened, I had already sustained burns,” he said.

He is currently receiving treatment at a specialist hospital in Sokoto, where he said his condition is improving.

A relative of the victim, Tasiu Abubakar, said the couple had lived together peacefully prior to the incident. He, however, hinted at lingering family tensions, noting that the woman’s mother had initially opposed the marriage.

He added that both families have opted for reconciliation and are not pursuing legal action at this stage.

Efforts to reach the wife or her relatives for comment were unsuccessful.

When contacted, the spokesperson for the Sokoto State Police Command, Ahmad Rufai, said the matter would be looked into, but no official update had been provided as of the time of filing this report.

The incident has drawn attention to the dangers of unresolved domestic disputes and the need for early intervention in cases of escalating tension within households.
