Hundreds of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) from various disability groups across the Federal Capital Territory have received cash assistance and food items from the All Progressives Congress (APC) as part of efforts to support vulnerable members and promote inclusiveness within the party.
The distribution exercise took place yesterday at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, where beneficiaries drawn from clusters including the visually impaired, hearing impaired and other disability groups gathered to receive the support.
The presentation was carried out on behalf of the party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, by his Principal Private Secretary, Comrade Jibrin Kamga Bancir. The programme was coordinated by the APC National Leader of Persons with Disabilities, Tolu Bankole.
Addressing beneficiaries and party members at the event, Bancir said the intervention reflected the commitment of the APC leadership to the welfare and inclusion of persons living with disabilities.
He conveyed the goodwill of the National Chairman and assured beneficiaries that the party would continue to support initiatives aimed at improving their well-being.
“I’m standing here on behalf of the National Chairman to appreciate you and welcome you to the APC National Secretariat,” Bancir said.
According to him, the party leadership remains committed to ensuring that persons with disabilities feel the impact of their membership and participation in the APC.
He noted that the National Chairman had consistently supported programmes championed by the party’s disability wing to encourage greater participation and inclusion.
“The little the APC National Leader of Persons with Disabilities, Aare Hon. Tolu Bankole, is doing, the National Chairman is backing him so that more PWDs will see the benefit of being members of APC. This is a party you belong to, and you are aware of what our President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing to advance the cause of our country,” he said.
Bancir urged the beneficiaries to remain steadfast in their support for the party and its programmes.

Speaking at the event, Bankole expressed appreciation to the APC National Chairman for what he described as unwavering support for disability-focused initiatives.
He said the cash and food distribution formed part of broader efforts to provide relief to persons with disabilities amid current economic challenges.
“We are stronger together. I appreciate the support of the National Chairman for his love and commitment to PWDs nationwide. He has shown leadership and comradeship. Today at the National Secretariat, we continue the distribution of cash and foodstuffs support to PWDs,” Bankole said.
He added that the party would continue to advocate policies and programmes that promote inclusion, empowerment and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities.
Many of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the assistance, describing it as timely support that would help cushion the impact of rising living costs.
Some said the intervention demonstrated that persons with disabilities were being recognised and carried along in the party’s activities and welfare programmes.
The APC reiterated that the welfare of persons with disabilities remains an important component of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and pledged to sustain initiatives aimed at improving representation, empowerment and access to opportunities for PWDs across the country.
