The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has restored power transmission through the Apo Transmission Substation after a 100MVA transformer developed a fault on Wednesday.
The transformer, located at the 132/33kV Apo Transmission Substation, tripped earlier in the day, disrupting bulk electricity supply to some feeders serving customers of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC).
TCN said its technical team carried out comprehensive tests and maintenance on the affected transformer before returning it to service.
According to the company, restoration was completed at about 7:33pm on Wednesday.
Following the restoration, the affected 33kV feeders, identified as H31, H33, H35 and H37, were returned to service.
TCN said bulk power supply to AEDC customers connected to the affected feeders had consequently been fully restored.
The company appreciated electricity consumers for their patience during the outage and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining stable power transmission across the country.
