The Lagos State Deputy Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 election, Kadri Hamzat, will unveil his campaign manifesto on Friday, October 30.
Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, Director-General of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kadri Obafemi Hamzat (PBAT-KOH) Campaign Council, announced this at a press conference in Ikeja.
He said the event would take place at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts, formerly the National Arts Theatre, in Iganmu, Lagos.
According to Obanikoro, the ceremony will run from 3pm to 5pm, with guests expected to arrive from 11am.
The campaign council said attendance at the venue would be strictly by invitation because of limited seating. However, television stations and digital platforms, including Channels Television, will broadcast the event live.
Obanikoro said the campaign would centre on continuity in governance and inclusivity, which he described as essential to Lagos State’s further development.
He explained that Hamzat’s vision would build on the development framework introduced in 1999 under former Lagos State Governor Bola Tinubu.
He also cited the administrations of former governors Babatunde Fashola and Akinwunmi Ambode, alongside the incumbent, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as part of the state’s development journey.
“Continuity is not about doing things the same way simply because they have been done before. It is about protecting what works, correcting what needs improvement, and building on existing progress,” Obanikoro said.
He added that the campaign intended to promote equal opportunities for residents, irrespective of religion, ethnicity, gender or social status.
The campaign director-general also highlighted Hamzat’s academic qualifications and experience in both the private and public sectors.
He said Hamzat earned a PhD in Systems Process Engineering from Cranfield University in England at the age of 28. Before joining the Lagos State Government, he worked with international financial institutions, including Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley and Citibank.
Hamzat later served as a commissioner under three administrations before becoming deputy governor.
Meanwhile, the campaign council said it had consulted traditional rulers, religious leaders, market traders, youth groups, professionals and artisans across the state while developing its agenda.
Obanikoro said the council would make digital copies of the manifesto available for public download after Friday’s unveiling.
He urged residents to study the document and send suggestions through official party channels. He said their contributions would help promote grassroots participation in shaping Lagos State’s future.
